Back to Math's Mates

In all classes today, we are getting back into doing the weekly Math's Mates. Every period has homework. Some periods will owe me the worksheet tomorrow (periods 3 & 5), and the rest will give me the worksheet on Friday (periods 1, 2, & 7)

Eagle Ridge Academy

From the principal of Eagle Ridge Academy:

Eagle Ridge Academy will be hosting an open house for all 8th grade students and their families on March 16th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. This is an opportunity for those students/parents who have not yet decided where they will be going to high school next year, to come to our facility and talk with our principal and our counselor and also take a tour of our school.

Monday, 3/7/11

All classes have no homework tonight. I am using the last few days in the quarter to review for CSAP next week and finish any last details before grades are due on Friday.

Test corrections are only allowed during lunch recess during the months of March and April due to soccer season.

Period 7 has a quiz tomorrow. It will cover sections 2 & 3 in chapter 4. They should study tonight.

Tuesday, 3/1/11

No homework in all classes. I am using this time in class to complete chapter tests, get corrections done, and start new chapter pre-assesses. Over the next few days and into next week, we will be doing CSAP prep.

Monday, 2/28/11

Period 1:
Study for the Chapter 3 test and review the distributive property for corrections on the chapter 2 retest.

Period 2:
Review Chapter 3 for corrections on the test in class tomorrow.

Period 3:
Review the distributive property for corrections on the chapter 2 retest.

Period 5:
Study for the Chapter 3 test and review the distributive property for corrections on the chapter 2 retest.

Period 7:
No homework tonight. We will review for the chapter 4A test in class and start discussing chapter 4 section 4.

Report Cards and Awards Ceremony

First, report cards will be sent home today in your student's Friday folder.

Second, the honor awards ceremony, for middle school, will be Friday, January 14th at 2:30 in the gym.

Third, High Honors and Honors are determined by individual first and second quarter grades. Semester average grades are not considered. In regards to middle school math grades, first quarter numeric grades are being ignored and second quarter letter grades are being averaged to come up with one math grade for award purposes.
